- Having two of our children’s bdays to contend with within two weeks is exhausting.
- Lizzy heroically sourced most of our middle ones presents from the awesome The Toy Project in archway. Second hand plastic toys are 100x better than brand new plastic toys.
- Apart from when they’re worse than hell itself like the spinning musical disco car/dinosaur transformer that ended up being the middle one’s favourite thing ever. Make. It. Stop.
- It was works autumn party, and the theme “relaxation”. My input obviously became leading the running crew on a beautiful lunchtime jog down the canal. Not quite sure it fit the brief, but we had some new joiners, so at least it felt like it was something more than just us run-heads enjoy.
- The day finished in a pub quiz where my single brain cell was challenged multiple times as one of the only people on my team brought up in the UK. Sorry to disappoint you colleagues!
- Our youngest came out in splotchy patches after getting the MMRV vaccine. Back In our day we just got sat next to someone’s infectious chickenpox-ridden child. Now they get it dosed right into their little leggys. She was mostly fine apart from not sleeping very well and being very clingy.
- The middle ones birthday week finished with throwing a party in the local park. We managed to luck out on the weather being above 20 degrees and also that the party fell on the same day as our local car-boot sale. all the plastic tat we gave away as party prizes we bought earlier the same day from the families that were attending the party.
- The party wasn’t that well organised but our eldest and her two friends had a great time screaming at the five-year-olds to get them to do a scavenger hunt or to play musical statues. It’s nice when the family works together.
