• The kids went to circus school for 4 days. This is quite a low return-on-investment holiday club, because we dont own any trapeze’s or silks for them to show us what they learned. Circus equipment is also not the sort of thing that would get prioritised in haringey’s new parks initiative.
  • Ran a longer route to work which took me a good way toward stratford, then back in via victoria park.
  • Easter has been a trip away to deal, one of the only places on the south east coast that we’ve not been to. Deal is great, there’s a good mix of british seaside holiday and upper-middle-class independent vacay’s. Surly family run fish and chips capitalising on the trainloads of fresh londoners to maximise their revenue.
  • Easter coastal park run was sunny and full of people (400!) I came top 20, but slower than I would have liked. Fish & chips weren’t great for the motor.
  • The kids ate everything you’d expect over a weekend of easter and holidaying. Ice cream, chocolate eggs, crazychinos(hot chocolate with whipped cream, marshmallows and a flake.
  • Deal castle was quite round with thick walls you can walk all around inside with a fake musket. Why did victorian era ships go anywhere near these castles though, the cannons could fire 1.3km, so surely as a ship you just sail 1.3km away and invade there?
  • Deal has a ball clock tower. The ball drops every hour during the day so that ships out in the sea can set their clocks by it.
  • I made an easter egg clue hunt with the easter bunny. Tips for easter clue hunts: start with the last clue, work backwards. Add picture clues for little people who can’t read. Don’t use fake post-its. Make sure the kids share clue solving. Don’t make it too hard. Even obvious stuff gets missed, the objective is fun, not getting one up over your kids.
