• Our eldest has started watching traitors with us and it’s enjoyable to watch TV this good as a family
  • At the North London Dirt Run Saturday morning It was a bit of a home-away-from-home. as they served kickback coffee (roasted in my home town of Bollington) and I talked to a guy who’d come from Slaithwaite, very close to my sisters village. The run was unique, balmy weather for the time of year, and a route that wandered through the side-spaces and alleys left behind and forgotten by roadways and residential master plans.
  • Said goodbye to some top tier friends who are moving to Bristol. Bristol sounds nice, but I’m really very annoyed with it for stealing good people away from our area.
  • Liz started her new job this week which added a new layer onto our hectic childcare schedule but seemed to go pretty well. You can read more about that in her weeknotes…
  • It’s secondary school choosing season and every conversation revolves around this. We went to the open evening of a local school and the elder two kids and I had a great time making badges in their design-tech room. We also disected sheep’s hearts in their science room and learned about circuits in electronics.
  • Obviously, the first time we needed our new heating this year, it didn’t work. (On that grey, cold, windy day, that first winter reminder, sneaking into our midweek). Kasper our heating engineer spent a lot of time asking us to perform different types of hard reset over video calls, but no success.
  • The middle one has started to write stories: “story for kids who are learning to read; hello toilets, you stink”
  • Classic Sunday with a chill morning, eating a fresh crepe with friends in the sunshine. while our kids throw the shorts and shirts from their football kits as high as they can into branches of some young street trees.
