• We’re back on reusable nappies. Its part of my brand. You know, the mostly sustainable, reduce waste guy. Doesnt own a car, rides bikes. But the increase in effort (and nausea inducing moments) is huge, having been using disposables since we moved into the flat. Lizzy is right though, the reusables do make so much more sense… but ugh
  • The eldest and I snuggled on the sofa while Lizzy went to the gym and we watched Matt Weston win gold in the skeleton luge. Watching the Olympics has been pivotal for our family morale. I’ve also found it great that you can appear incredibly knowledgeable about something just by paying attention and listening. The kids are always surprised by how much I know about niche sports.
  • S’half term shambles commences
  • We bundled into the train carriage, all five of us, fully laden. Took our seats around a table. Bustling with bags, stowing the buggy. As we sit the middle kid shouts over, “dad!, is this the quiet coach?” I look around, its obviously not the quiet coach. “No…” i start to reply, then catch the wild-eyed look of a fella perched next to our table and change my mind “Yes kid” i whisper “yes this is the quiet coach”
  • Obviously, I then told her it was a joke and she continued to fill the not-quiet carriage with 5-year old volume shouting.
  • Up north for some half term parental help and it is wet. Like soaked to the bone, dripping wet. squelchy muddy falling over, pack your boots wet.
