- In volunteering my tools in some cases I also volunteer my skills in using those tools. In some cases becoming the head chef in the DIY kitchen. If it’s my electric screwdriver, I should know how to use it. This week I helped a friend put up a small shed, too small for both of us to comfortably fit in to hold together. A modest, short, satisfying construction project.
- Saboteur is an excellent game for 10 medium drunk product + education professionals to play. It’s just the right blend of strategy, easy rules and false accusations. It’s also work-safe, unlike Cards Against Humanity.
- On arrival at my mums this weekend, I went to unpack my clothes and realised I’d only packed a single, black t-shirt. This meant I’d have to be economical with my wears. prioritising the 90th birthday party we were attending. On closer inspection, the t-shirt I had brought was not my t-shirt at all, but my lovely wife’s 80’s style crop-top t-shirt. Not the look I was going for.
- T-shirt style aside, it was very heartwarming to spend time celebrating with someone who is 90 but doesn’t seem a bit older than…70 maybe? It gives me a lot of hope for the future.
- A classic fathers sunday. Grumpy start, cuppa, card-opening, brekky, and a mostly pleasant time stressing about some last minute work I had to send before Monday morning. Which, when sent, turned out to be unnecessary due to a strategic change. It’s all fun and adventures in the agile business world.
