- The middle kid started watching spongebob. I’m a super chill dad, so was like “oh this is so okay, there’s loads of stuff for newborns with spongbob on, it must be super safe for little kids”. I also remember it being funny when I was cool back in 2003. Well, in this episode, Spongebob runs over a guys legs repeatably, then this guy’s love interest pulvarises patrick. This is a lot of violence to endure for almost zero comedy. Anyway, we don’t watch it anymore.
- We also started the eldest on the Simpsons but she knows so little about drinking and dead-end jobs that it was hard for her to understand the jokes.
- The middle one had her adorable nativity where she was one of the narrators, and spoke clearly and loudly. Top marks
- Ran through my 2025 Running challenge & completed 1500km this year
- More lovely kid conversations this week:
- Her: “Did you know the house is upside down and if we go outside of the Earth and we look back then the house is upside down?”
- Me: “is it really? Why is that?”
- Her: “Science Daaaad”
- I’m proud of us as parents as most of the gifts we have got for our kids this year are off eBay or Facebook marketplace. The power of second hand is that I dont have a panic attack on Christmas Even again when I look at what Santa’s brought and get overwhelmed with how terrible the excess is.
- We went and knocked on doors and sung carols and drank mulled apple juice and raised £90 for Humanity and Inclusions Ukraine ambulance appeal. The kids loved it and even more so, i just love singing in groups. Maybe 2026 is the year I join a choir?
