- After “Chosen Family” going around and around in our heads the last few months. The eldest performanced this banger on stage at “Voice-in-a-million” (known colloquially as VIAM) as part of her school choir.
- There were 6000 kids singing their hearts out. Maybe it should be renamed Voice-In-Six-Thousand.
- During Voice-In-Six-Thousand there was an MC from heart FM that did a good job of getting kids excited about sitting through 2.5 hrs of singing and a pretend pop-star called Channy who did a good job of pretending to be a famous pop-star.
- Our eldest was on stage for Chosen Family with her school choir, she wasn’t a ‘soloist’ but did appear on a 50ft screen for a few very rewarding seconds. Legend.
- [back at home] Middle kid to baby: “I love your face, I wish it was my face”
- Some of the days this week, phew. London summer is fully back. At one point I saw a man in a park with no top on.
- Lizzy and I made the most of a good-weather Saturday when both older kids were otherwise engaged to have excellent lunch in a glorified car park diner. The tattoo’d tottenham hipster next to me talked of his upcoming trip to new york and sported a tank top and shorts while I wore a down jacket and three under layers. It’s just not that hot yet Tottenham.
- There’s nothing that makes you feel like a good parent than rescuing your kid from a sleepover at 11pm then taking them back at 7am the next morning because the room they were supposed to be sleeping in at the sleepover was “too light for them”. Always rescue your kids.
- I spent a whole lunch hour on our balcony utterly gripped by Arborescence by Rhett Davis. So utterly gripped that I lightly sunburned my neck.
