- Booked tickets to Wilderness festival for the whole family after a few years of visiting Eweleaze farm “A campsite with a festival feel”.
- A while back I “stepped into new shoes” at work that were left by someone else. This week I got feedback that I was stepping into those shoes in my “own unique way”. I think that’s positive.
- Spotted plenty of graffiti’s by well known graffiti people on a walking tour team-building event for work. A good choice of team building event as there was no competition, but interesting in-depth talking points. “What’s your favourite and why?”. Also after regarding so much graffiti I realised that I don’t really ‘like’ any graffiti/street art but, I really agree with the idea of people being able to change their local area in a way that feels accessible.
- After the tour we ordered detroit-pizza to the pub we were at and wow, those heavily laden, foccacia-like squares were right up my street.
- Lizzy did a heroic job at the face-paint stall at our eldests school fair. The fair had all the features of a top-class school fair; Adopt-a-teddy, Plant-craft, Pick-a-lolly prize games, and well managed bouncy castles. Also a few surprise hits; Temporary-tattoo-table, Golf and karaoke.
- At one point I heard “Kids in America” (a Kim Wild classic) being played through the karaoke stereo and thought it was an odd karaoke song choice, especially considering the youth-focused tracklist of Katy Perry, SZA, Taylor Swift. When I turned round it was our eldest, on her own, blasting out the chorus. I’m very proud of her for this. 10/10
- The youngest tried a ‘target practice’ game; Three balls, 2m distance, velcro target.
3-balls on target = big prize.
1 or more (<3) balls on target = little prize,
0 balls on target = bag of Haribo.
When we tried she missed completely, but walked away happy, with a bag of Haribo. Halfway across the field she stopped, looked at me and said “I want a whistle” (one of the little prizes). We talked about how it would take up more tokens, and that she still might not win, but that if she wasn’t afraid of that she could try again. She went back, queued, then smashed all three balls in the centre of the target. The ‘crowd’ went wild, she got the whistle. A top parent moment.
- The youngest now has a football whistle and gosh it is annoying.
