- We’ve lived with a very uncomfortable sofa for the past 4 years. As we’re in the market for a new one I decided to try and fix the old one by adding OSB board underneath the sagging cushions. This meant bringing home a full size 1220x2440 OSB sheet tied to the cargo bike. As I pushed it proudly home a local man made fun of me for not riding.
- We organised our biggest #busuuactive of the year. 9 people running over lunchtime. We’ve now made it a regular thing.
- Accepted an invite from Lizzy to Divorce…
- …Divorce are a BAND! Had you going there didn’t I. At islington assembly hall, they were excellent.
- Brought the kids to their granny/grampa’s for a few nights. I dropped them (and the littlest’s vomitty clothes, she gets so travel sick) in Crewe then rode to mums near macclesfield. In true cheshire style I met some horseys, plenty of cattle and some sheep. And a woman with a puncture who refused my offer to help.
- Took my lovely mum out for a meal at the local startup street food resto Kira. (Delicious but average vibes). During the evening a lovely small-mouse sized house spider proceeded to walk about the various tables like an over-attentive host. We chatted about the benefits of keeping house spiders alive with the restauranteur.
- As i’ve mentioned the past thousand daylight-saving transitions: my first change, when I get any power, will be to remove daylight savings. But last night’s transition meant I slept a solid 9hrs. Bliss.
- Three coffees and a hammering heart rate propelled me through an 65km group ride with my great friend Dan G (Hello Danzy 👋). The group we were with was full of chattery cheshire-lot. I learned about various group-cycle hand gestures; The “we’re coming up to a junction”, the “there’s a massive pothole here” and the classic “get out the way there’s an aggressive range-rover” gesture. All capped off with a final coffee, then a quick bowl of chilli and back on the 16.37 to london.
