- Achievement Unlocked! The smallest family member can now roll over. Front to back. It’s kind of an odd movement; Her little bundle of body stretched out as far as she can, back arched until finally gravity plops her over. She grabs both feet in celebration. Or because she’s only just found those feet and they’re her two favourite things.
- Went to eat at Daka Daka with some friends and had the exact same experience as Grace Dent described in her Guardian review. Still, it was a lot of fun for a restaurant, and the waiting staff were great; delightfully poking fun at our lounging bodies as we couldn’t finish the last tomato from the sharing plate. We also had some severely “Water-sommelier” mineral water from Georgia which was, and I’m not joking here, delicious.
- We’ve found one of the biggest problems of pushing everyone to use AI in our company is that we’re all drowning in documents. Every day, multiple new multi-page documnets are delivered that we’re expected to read, review and comment on; New ways of working, AI generated meeting summaries, Product specifications. Being able to generate all the docs doesn’t mean we should.
- Though, on AI, I’ve had two working games sent to me this week by friends. The games have been described by our 9-year old as VERY FUN. The best use for AI is generating fun games and sending them to your friends.
- I spent Friday working from Arc, a new workspace that has opened up in the building next to our flat. Arc’s tagline is “you have a local coffee shop and a local gym, now you have a local workspace”. Its very sleek, but is also very empty. The shared kitchen there has an endless supply of chocolate digestives, which is worth the membership fee alone, so I’ll be heading back this week.
- We’re doing the hard work to reduce our budget on the house renovation after quite a few things have come in ve-hery expeensive. This means scouring the internet late-at-night for things like “second hand kitchens” and “reclaimed flooring”.
- [5-year old, trying to wobble the seized springy wood platform in the park] “I think this is meant to be wobbably”
