- This post is all about the same holiday we have every year. Here’s a link to last years.
- We stayed in a much older, more sprawling, castley, damp-but-vast property this visit. One which had many quirks, such as a door, on which someone had naively placed a small sign that read: “WHATEVER YOU DO, FOR GOODNESS SAKE. DON'T LEAVE THIS DOOR OPEN”. Obviously not realising that this is the most cursed phrase ever attached to a door.
- There were disappointingly few blackberries in Rhoscolyn this year. We talked a lot about how last year we had blackberry pie and how the lack of them this year must have been down to the wet weather.
- I’m not at a level of Cosmos understanding to know why, but our visit this year coincided with a larger than average Moon. The same as last year. So we had very high, and very low tides.
- Another thing that was big was the wind. Unfortunately blowing so strongly that a lot of our usual outdoor activities were ruled out. We battled through a family game of Rounders though. With the wind adding an extra help for the youngsters, and hindrance to the adults.
- The kids were besotted with their elder cousins for much of the week. The cousins patiently helped them reach treats, throw balls, make friends with dogs and play video games and they both came away from the holiday 60-70% cheekier.
- Next year will be the same again, but much more different.
